Really satisfying how you styled the swim tops/ suits. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this post when I read the title but as always you more than pulled a look together - you’ve inspired me to try something similar with what I have in my closet.

Love all of these looks sooo much! On the subject of belts though (and noting you're top notch in this department too), have you got a good alt for this Miu Miu which is the bomb but not $2k? https://www.baltini.com/en-au/products/miu-miu-cinture-city-calf-metal-mix?variant=42169367527521&srsltid=AfmBOoptAaJ--1WG90W3s6pi9wlwws9DOjdnBUhQzBsJQ1-Jj2bCBdZc99A

That is one hell of a belt. I am on it!

Isn't she just! I have a black lace sheer maxi dress she'd go so purrfectly with, but I figure if anyone's got any alts to spending this much it'd be you!

The Niko Lotan top, the Doen skirts/shorts, everything that’s very ruffly boho/mid to late 90s is so hard for me. It always either feels super girly or childish. Like either super feminine (not really my vibe) or very Justice ala 1997. But they never look like that on you. Help—How do I think through giving it edge and making it modern so I don’t feel like a 13 year old girl again?

I know exactly what you mean/how you feel. I think the correlating pieces have to be soooo rigid in their not leaning that direction. Can’t do a ruffle top with light wash jeans or like, a suede jacket. for example. More likely suiting. Or with those Doen pieces, same thing. Unapologetically sleek or too insane to be mistaken for anything else (eg 60s print bathing suit like the one I’m wearing)

Yes! I need to compensate with excessive sleekness and rigidity so it pulls it over into the space! Can’t let the ruffles drive the outfit!

Alternatively: you can just not buy that stuff. Nothing wrong with that either!

I’ve been trying this but if you're floral, ruffle, eyelet phobic there haven’t been a lot of shirts this summer that aren’t a tshirt or a button up for someone who is 41 and has to make occasional office appearances. And I love a button up but I also love a day without an iron.

When I click on the $970 Valentino suit, it’s actually $980 and no returns. 😂

The bustier? I love that thing!

No, not the bustier. The tshirt type. 🙃

You outdid yourself once again. Bathing suits are by definition bright, glamorous and shiny, so it's a natural. I like the cape! I have white jeans and a red bathing suit, so maybe I'll try the belted look mahself.
