Three quick things before the main event
I encountered this brand, Kapsul, earlier this week thanks to a DM from the founder, Mar. It’s line item no.1 because I like what she does: limited capsules made from dead-stock fabrics. I’d been thinking that I’m dying for a tube top to wear (but settling on one-piece bathing suits, or tbh bikini tops, in their place) with my cargo shorts and think this one could be the postpartum hooray. This is the most ridiculous and premature visualization I’ll have you make, but imagine this skirt, too, with a pair of sheer black tights and a crew neck cardigan like this come fall.
Thank you also to Bice Vintage for sliding into my dms earlier this week and alerting me of Flowze. No notes, you know what to do.
On Tuesday morning, I saw these Tod’s bags, just a few days after I’d loaded up my Real Real cart with this, this, and this (this) — just so I could keep my eyes on them and now it feels important to say outside the confines of my group text with Lauren and Becky that it’s time for the Tod’s bag comeback. But if you read Liana Satenstein’s Neverworns, you probably know this already.
There’s a 4th item, actually.
It’s MNZ’s J. Crew collab. Have you browsed it yet? It’s all about the scrunchie for me (but I have been so attracted to a particular shade of bubblegum pink lately, so I think I will eat the extra $10 for this one), to wear with the silver skirt — and I love the styling with a bikini top and an oversize button down shirt. I do also like this slip dress. Ideal for an intentional bra/undie set.
Sale shopping
Do you ever break down what makes something worth buying once it’s been marked down? I think it changes by season, by mood, by how the demands (e.g. new job, new kid, new city) or conditions of your life are guiding what you want and why you want it.
If I weren’t pregnant, for example, I think I’d be looking ahead only to next week, where I could wear a tiny, tacky dress (although technically I can, and have —)
