Letter of Rec #103: And the sandal of summer is…

Plus: a sweet sale from 1st Dibs, great fabric chokers and belts, bathing suits and …the hair thickens!

Okay, I’m about a month in using the hair oil I mentioned last week (Amazing Hair Saviour) and I think it’s working?

I don’t know if my hair is actually thicker but it does feel bigger (in a good way) if that makes sense. Like higher volume, maybe even bouncier. Is that a hair root/moisture-effect thing?

Not sure if its a function of the anti-frizz effect of the oil (she said from the trenches of a 105 degree day!) but for now I’m going to stick with this oil and Nutrafol as my double-threat get-those-hair-extensions-without-the-extensions effort and see where it takes me. You can call this soft rec. no.1, before we jump into an archive of great sale, the sandal of summer and a few good things from a few good, small brands. Re great sale: There is a range of sweet deals on 1st Dibs rn. It can feel p overwhelming if you’re not ruthless about how you narrow the search and you would be surprised at what you can find when you narrow down sale > jewelry > sub $1000 and then refine by category from there. Some great ones:

Ripping off the bandaid with an exquisite old cut diamond centered around geometric emeralds but I maintain the price bracket on everything else! Including this great strand of semi precious pink stones — ideal for the summer. Here is the cuff under the ring and I think I will get the center necklace? That black resin collar is from the same brand. The coral is its own thing, but while we’re on the hues: so into pink and black pearls rn too. I should also like to bring attention to this Miu Miu bag for $416.

Sometimes all you need is a little something special to slap over your ribbed tank and cargo shorts to call it a viable, return-to-able uniform.

Next up: the sandal of summer. There is one specific shape that is proliferating at a rate faster than any other, and so many expressions as far as how you can do it, so I’m compelled to call it the definitive style of the summer.
