The ease and endurance of a collarless coat

Winter dressing is straightforward. It’s a sweater and pants and durable shoes and a coat that can fit it all under. Some people love it (winter dressing), some hate it. I think your preference depends on whether you find peace in the dependability of a consistent uniform, or prefer to use clothes to project a broader range of expressions (guilty).

Nothing stands between me and my protein milk. Except a primo hand chain. (This is a great alt for the scarf…; the coat shown is By Malene Birger)

Clothes do a good job reflecting your moods, which is, I think, what draws so many of us to them. So if you want to keep up this shenanigan while wearing the same black turtleneck (or wild bodysuit, wtvr) and flare leggings day in and out (or tbh, even if you want to surprise yourself on the occasion that you’re craving some sssssspice), I think a collarless coat is your ticket.

Why? Because it’s easy to style to look different every time you wear it. This is true no matter whether it’s fuzzy or wool or long or even robe-y, or short. (Although a shape like the one pictured after this sentence is def the most versatile because of length, material and the slightly oversize shape.)

And-daughter scarf, Calvin Klein coat (Rue Sophie has a good comp), The Row riding boots (they are old; I love these for now. If you prefer a mini heel, have been circling these, then there is these at a slightly lesser price point). The sunglasses are Soeur, but don’t ship to the U.S., these from Chimi are a good alt; or these from St. Agni are on sale

A perfect segue into the first reason collarless coats reign supreme —
