revisiting all of these for outfit inspo lately. i love the white jeanerica shorts but wanted to find a more budget-friendly alt. levi’s men’s 412 slim shorts are a very close dupe. they’re more of a soft cream color than bright white. and fabric is soft yet stiff enough to maintain crisp shape. length is perfect: just above the knee. i sized up to get a little more slouch. tx for all the great ideas, leandra.

So many great outfits to recreate here, but that rust and olive color combo (pic 3) sends shivers down to my women parts (in the best way). Wonder if color

Combos have a similar “record memory” like smells do 🤔🤔🤔. Thanks for sharing.

A subsect of color theory that is worth exploring! It's def true that certain combos just relax the eye. I feel that way about pastel-ish periwinkle and melon (like cantaloupe orange)

What you want to wear and what is practical for getting around the city....and what others are comfortable with what you wear....although you shouldn't care, it does happen....

I don't know! I don't think it's so bad/wrong to factor in the environment you're dressing for. When you dismiss yourself/sense of honest expression to accomodate an environment is one thing, when you are finding the overlap on that venn diagram, maybe it can be viewed as just...respectful? Idk!

"When you dismiss yourself/sense of honest expression to accomodate an environment"

That is very well said....it can be a thing that you learn though....a bad habit....but reality....

Had been feeling uninspired regarding what to pack for my trip into the city this weekend, and this is definitely helping (now if only the warm temps would stick around!)

Okay that last outfit is FULL Monty FABULOUS! Looping back to our recent conversation re leather jackets: surely this Khaite one is the holy grail??

Tbh think it’s the antivol one!!

I think it’s the cut of the Khaite one that’s got me good! Do you own the jacket or just employ for the shoot?

I own it! It's a bit old. I think 2-3 springs ago? its good with skirts and dresses, but a weird cut for jeans because of the length!

Oooo it’s an older version- I might be able to get my hands on a second hand one then! I loveee it. Why don’t you think it’s a good cut w jeans? Cropped leather jackets no good w jeans generally speaking, or just this particular cut?

Into them! But actually find these a little baggy. Is that the look you’re going for? I usually prefer a bit of a crop, like the ones from Donni or Becky Malinsky added a pair of flare sweatpants to her most recent newsletter send. Those looked really good. Let me pull them up

Gosh, they look amaze & only $78!! I wonder what the quality would be like, compared to the Acne? I’m not familiar w Donni, will check that out too! I do love the baggy look atm w a bodysuit & long sleeve crop or cardigan layered over the top…but agree they’re pretty baggy. This inspired it…https://www.instagram.com/p/C5Mb8ynSL8i/?igsh=MzdwYzY3cmM2dzFx

Way to crush it, Charlie. Taking notes as this time in NY is very New England summer evening adjacent. That look with the yellow bandana will be me having fun in Maine explaining Pet Nat to my parents.

Question about the brown soeur sandals in the first photo. The link you share shows the sandals with a brass ring but the ones you are wearing do not have that! Is there another version of the sandal coming out without the ring (I like ring-less better)? I really love them - they manage to feel substantial but in a way that doesn't look heavy (if that makes sense!). Appreciate any insight you can share!

Hi! The ones I’m wearing are a couple years old, so I linked to the updated version of them. Not sure if they’re bringing them back, but I know they did last summer. So maybe? Can also ask :)

The pinned peplum shirt and yellow skirt is giving me particular joy. As is your bump. Do the girls speak to it?

love all the inspo! can you talk about the long shorts? especially for those of us who aren’t tall like you? what’s the good proportion? i got some super cool, kinda baggy/slouchy levi’s men’s long denim shorts and am wondering if i should shorten or just roll with them as is.

Yes! Trick if you are on the shorter side (and don't feel right in the proportion you're wearing) is to have them fall just above your knee so that they're still long line, but showing more than less of your leg if that makes sense? There's no hard and fast rule, I rly believe it's about how you feel in them. How long/short are the ones you have?

Expand full comment

tx. they hit just below the knee, but above the shapely part of my calf if that makes sense. i think i’m gonna try this length for a bit and shorten if they don’t feel right. i’m short waisted & my legs are “long” in proportion to my torso, so maybe they’re ok…?
