My best chain belts are vintage - try Imparfaite (they sometimes have the heart ones which feel quite vintage ysl) and vestiaire etc for real vintage ysl!
Love this thank you!! Wondering about Leset, though--I recently bought two pointelle long sleeve ti-shirts because of this newsletter, but honestly I found them extremely underwhelming for how expensive they were. It bummed me out. I'm now drawn to the spring trousers, but worried I'd find the same thing. I guess the question is: is it really worth buying expensive basics? Or is it better to find similar, less expensive basics and put one's funds (assuming most people have "normal" budgets) into more exceptional, special pieces??
Bummed you didn’t like the shirts! Although which ones? The tees ? I think this is the first pointelle rec I’ve made since the tank top a few summers ago (which I do still wear like mad)
Did you buy from a place where you could return? Would be silly to keep holding on if they’re not doing it for you
I think setting an intention for the items — like what purpose is this thing supposed to serve in my wardrobe and how do I want to feel in it could help with determining what’s worth spending on and what’s not. Also, if you can find this stuff at a price point that better accommodates your budget and the role you wish for them to play in your wardrobe; then def go w that! I can do some digging too..
Please please do some digging on the pants and the mules if you can!! I'm now obsessed with them (it will probably pass, but consider it a compliment on your eye/talent/layout)
Your tees rec took me to their website, but I found the pointelle long sleeve tees on my own (I bought one black and one white) I've only worn each once, but they already have stretched out elbows so I think my only option is reselling on therealreal...
I love treating certain things as "Serendipity Shopping" (ironically planned) -- where you plan not to search for it online but rather leave it intentionally open and let it find you, maybe on a trip, a randomly discovered antiques shop with a few belts and bags, etc ... The charm belt seems like a perfect Serendipity Shopping item. Also I am obsessed with oranges and raisins in my salads, which also contain chili olive oil Tonnino tuna.
i am so feeling that moschino cowboy hat/ ruffle look and scanning my closet for some cool way to recreate it. i also love the moschino CIAO brooch that echoes the 90s CIAO belts (another rabbit hole unlocked).
i recently downloaded from etsy an amazing vintage knitting pattern that may plunge me headfirst into my swim cap era. thanks for all the inspo!
Chloe was like the return of phoebe philo era chloe! I loved it. Did you see that pic from vogue Italia of all the front row women wearing the same wedges? Made me 🙂

Vestiaire is a great idea. It’s such an afterthought in the US but really shouldn’t be

I own the tank and have been eyeing the long sleeves so I greatly appreciate this feedback!
There are some nice pointelle in silk at Amazon. Better rated than Leset.

Been on the hunt for a good leather jacket -- like for weeks-- and this morning your newsletter hit my inbox! Perfection.
I wish you'd do a post on how you put these magical newsletters together. They're a work of art.
I love that you’re asking for this so much because I have one in the pipeline!!!
Yay!! Inner workings are fascinating... can't wait!!
And the salad 🥗
For belt I like the Loewe one, but I am sure you have a long gold necklace you can use instead!⭐️
I thought about that! But none of them are bulky enough
Looking forward to the “second coming of Moschino”!!
For legging layering skirts, I saw this sheer one at the Dries store the other day and fell in love: https://www.modaoperandi.com/women/p/dries-van-noten/241-010841-8105/623758
