Yes -- also been feeling an apron vibe. Had not thought of this 1/2 leather tool belt style, but did get this mens Yohji at a consignment store and thought I'd wear at night in Maine over jeans and a button up. https://lagarconne.com/products/dyyd06fw13-yohji-yamamoto-apron-dress

Re cutting things - the intro to this post got me screaming ‘yes!!’ I have done a pretty hardcore trouser declutter, which includes a pair of beautifully comfortable light wool, wider leg, tailored trousers that I have had to admit to myself, are too short for me (they cut my legs in a really funny place) I have been thinking about turning them into Bermuda short and now I am even more sure that the idea is just great! (even though it might not work out BUT oh the thrill of giving something a new life!)

I don't wear short things, but I so love when you wear a long thing over a short thing...it just turns everything 🙃 for me....also that gauzy nylon trench is just BONKERS🔥

100% agree with that lightweight nylon trench.. I mean, you could not be any cuter in this pregnancy with your outfits! That sequined skirt from Saks Potts is TDF and I always THINK I can do sequins, but I cannot. It's one of those things that I am not sure I could take myself seriously in - if that makes sense? And those Tom Ford slides in turqouise are BEYOND exquisite!!

yes I totally get what you mean/ sometimes when I wear it I feel like a clown, but reason that because i felt so good when i left home, it was worth the risk. the tom ford slides are actually originally a becky malinsky rec! she got them in black earlier this year and i was like o, those are an ideal shape of shoe.

Yes re slit. Which is what makes them so good with pants under. The TFs have low heel, and for whatever reason don’t make such an aggressive slap sound so overall very walkable. Keep thinking about styling them with sheer red tights

For the fall a la Alessandro-era gucci, doubt THAT will make

For a walkable experience :)

But the Saks Potts skirt has a huge slit up the side, right? I saw the Tom Ford’s IRL in Neimans and had a MOMENT with them. The turquoise are better? But how walkable?

Leandra, I was lucky enough to score the red Prada sleeveless button down that you linked. How would you style it? Thank you so much!!!

How do you like it?

I fantasized about styled it with high waist light wash ripped jeans and camel flip flops or fisherman shoes. It feels foolish tk buy these jeans while pregnant but they seem like the Michelin ripped option https://m.shopbop.com/ribcage-wide-leg-levis/vp/v=1/1563332309.htm?extid=affprg_linkshare_SB-HI9qJnKdCI0&cvosrc=affiliate.linkshare.HI9qJnKdCI0&affuid=Leandra-NL-S035695-2024-05-30%7Cxid%3Afr1717504601386jbc&sharedid=42352&subid1=HI9qJnKdCI0-09rBZ02v5Rl9QFCXh4PkTA

For sure I am on the bridge too...and it feels forced upon me the digital footprint due to the fallout from Covid, social isolation among many I know. Two friends long running theater companies did not survive and they were a place to connect.....I am never in the no frills zone dressing wise! LOL

Would love if you would share some ideas and pieces you are “cutting up”.

Most recently: two pairs of silky flowy pants (the white Enza Costa ones pictured, the silver ones from Maccapani I link to), then I self cut a pair of cotton la Perla pj pants and have been wearing “fancy” ever since. Also hacked a few dresses — one is the white Michael Michael Kors one pictured. It was like 5 inches longer. I turned another floor length long sleeve dress into a 7/8th dress and I have this dramatic collarless coat that I am thinking of cutting too — to right below calf length. It’s not an easy to wear floor length even tho it’s DRAMATIC in the best way. Will possibly do myself because the hem is raw so feel like I can. Does this help!

Peeing from “here’s a pregnant robot” cap. Also who makes that triangle pleated dress w knit top? And lastly I’m v into the lightweight trench as a sub for buttondown but can you make more recs for these? I moved to Miami and always looking for lightweight layers

Expand full comment

Hi! There are a bunch of recs in the caption of me in the grey shorts and white sneakers. Are those sufficient? Lmk if not

And the crochet boob dress is miu miu! Also from the real real, and presumably unworn. I cut the tags off yday. It retailed for $4650!!!! I got it $575 😁

Always find the best stuff when not looking for it.
