Happy New Year to you too! I’ll be spending the holiday with cousin-in-laws and all the kids in a “cabin” in Michigan. Definitely think I will be bringing out my brooch collection for this one since I’m sans any fancy pants at the moment.

Brooch collection! Love the idea of using one as a button

But you know what else? I kind of wish I had included a look for like, being in a log cabin alone with your significant other, or like a single friend -- something festive that is also very cozy.

I think it's a plaid flannel shirt with sweatpants, glitter socks and a brooch.

Or striped pjs, slippers, a sweater around shoulders and headband

unless, actually, you're sick of being in cozies all day and want to go ham

Since moving to Iowa from NYC, I haven’t been working (no fashion industry here) so I’m a little tired of cozy and casual. I say this as I sit on my couch in pj pants and my husbands t-shirt.

Do an addendum to your post!!!

Love this and the suggestions! I can not resist a sweater around the shoulders. Or a headband for that matter.

For some reason, I am thinking matching flowy sets with a cami and slippers for the S.O. with a hair clip of course, and just fun cozy neutral matching sets for the friends. Thinking Ref or even Gap or JCrew vibes. Headband optional. Plaid sounds festive too! Now I want to be in a cozy cabin with a roaring fire. Maybe next year's plans. ☺️

Ooh I adore that, thank you for sharing! What a cool idea for little charms as well. I have these Madewell charms that I have been contemplating how to incorporate into jewelry though stitching them onto a sweater or buttondown is something I never thought of and now will definitely do.

Ooooh, I really want to see how you style your brooch collection! If you are on Geneva, you must post your looks.

I’ve never used Geneva before, but I’ll figure it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have a small brooch and pin collection too! Love that idea. Who needs fancy pants? I have been seeing the trend of having them clustered on a lapel of a blazer or even a big one in the middle or some small ones on the end on a satin ribbon for your hair. Or on a headband or bobby pin as a faux hair clip. Forgive me, just some random ideas thrown out there. Leandra's suggestion is of course ideal as well.

I’ve put them on my shoes before (Tevas and strappy heels) to dress them up for daytime. Also scattered all over a white button down shirt or favorite tee. But I’m wondering if this time they should be attached to my legs in some way. I’ll play with it and see what works and I hope you will play with your collection to!

Adding to the brooch ideas, I forgot that I have been wanting to add them to this satin tie that randomly was delivered to me and they told me to just keep it. I was going to hold on to it as a gift though I realized that it was something I could wear. Then I saw the brooch idea on ties on Pinterest. Just another idea to throw out there. So masculine and feminine. 😉

That sounds fun and creative. I should try those ideas. Maybe on the end of your pants? DIY fancy pants?

Piggybacking on Leandra's suggestion, adding them to a hole on a belt loop or purse strap I might try as well. Lately I just like them in the jewelry box, is that weird? Though I have been toying with committing to the blazer idea. The satin ribbon one as well. I have added a floral one to a floral top and I like the subtle compliment to it.

Share what you decide if your feel inclined. I am intrigued. 😊

I am really loving that first satin jacket / satin shorts outfit so much that I had to whip out my credit card to tell you. It almost looks like a tux jacket and something sexy about the black and navy combo, looking nonchalant. I used to shoot you a lot for stylespotting at nyfw and have some fun unpublished pix to share when I filter files (the Rosie clothes and bandana wristed season). Jxx
