I wish I had a suitably articulate way to say how much I identify with this article. Piece dressing is terrific. An individual item that feels special, for any reason is a pleasure to have in the closet, or displayed in front of the closet, as I do, and it probably deserves to be squired about town, even if it’s just to CVS. There’s also pleasure in finding these treasures. My online shopping carts runneth over with items I will never buy.
The other thing, though, is how you think about shopping, Leandra. I grew up perusing stores, even the grocery store, for entertainment, and I definitely use shopping to self-sooth in place of digging into, say, my full-time work. Aside from the actual objects, exploring the why of wanting and enjoying these goods is rich with nostalgia and social pressures and aspirations, and sometimes with tedium.
There is something here about the way we relate to our closets and what purpose we want them to serve and what function. Which sounds like, duh obviously we want it to
Support our getting dressed but maybe this is because I haven’t been having as much fun getting dressed this summer, Ive wondered if there is something to considering how clothes are positioned in the closet - where things are and the proximity of PIECES to workhorses.

Low common denominators! Sounds like you do the same
I think what has made shopping in person so exciting and fun is going into a store and feeling inspired. But like, a surprised kind of inspirated! The rush you might get from going to gallery but it’s different because it’s a kind of practical inspiration: what is this thing how would I wear it what would I wear it with and we don’t live in a reality where we get this feeling so often ever. I don’t even think it’s the clothes fault! I think we have fatigue, or we are burned out from constant access to and awareness of whatever the magic sauce in the store used to be
Love those fisherman sandals! Can you comment on the sizing? The Link you share has a different size guide than the Grenson sight. I.e. Grenson sights says that a UK 5 is equal to a EUR 38 and is US 7.5. Your linked site says UK 7 is a US 8. Thank you!
Hi! Go with what the Grenson site says as far as conversation. Only think I’m a bit confused about: I’m a US 36 but wear a UK 4. if you’re after a 38, I’d go with a UK 6.
