I agree that the socks/sandals/loafers/flats etc. look is more interesting than sneakers which I've grown quite tired of wearing and seeing. With that said, if you wear a thick wool sock with a shoe, doesn't it mean you may have to size up the shoe? Or is this a foil for the new, too big, Drogheria Crivellini velvet Mary janes I just bought?

A new foil for the flats! try styling the shoe with the socks and see how it feels. I actually wore mine last week with charcoal gray cashmere socks, gray trousers and a striped shirt. It felt warm :)

I have been seeing this trend pop up lately and am so into it. Especially with a sandal. Going to attempt with a platform sandal that was not enjoyed this summer, though the pointy kitten heel pairing is my next fave. How fun it must have been to put all those looks together. Yes yes. xx

It was! Reminded me that the best part of getting dressed is almost always in the tiny cracks and corners

That is such a great way to describe it. I agree. The cracks and the corners. I feel that way about the simple joys in life lately too. Sneaking them in there.

Tell me about one! I just bought a tarot card deck and somehow it feels like a simple joy?

I just realized I never answered your question! You always ask good ones. I have been going through this phase where that has been changing. Or we all go through our own phases, I think that is normal. Being gluten-free, finding a new cookie or baked good brings me so much happiness these days. I did start making my own biscuits and adding different things to them depending on my mood, which has been fun as well. I would say I just caught up on some shows and I am so impressed with the writing and thoughtfulness in the production. The Bear and Tell Me Lies are the two standouts for me. In two completely different ways. Going through old books and other things to enjoy them one last time before I donate them is what I have been trying to focus on in the cracks and the corners as well. I don't care if that's not normal. Also, I have been working on my writing and that always brings me joy. 💛😊

Most definitely! Which one? I also like Lenormand (sp?) fortune cards as well. I pull at least two cards daily.

That is one of the best ones. I will confess I collected tarot decks, currently feeling the nostalgia of letting them go, hence the fortune card pulling. Kim Krans was definitely a personal favorite. I actually just found her memoir Blossoms and Bones in my piles of books, which I am trying to filter through. It is next on my list. 📋

I do think you might be the only woman to be able to pull this off. AND PULL IT OFF U DO

I love this look, but not sure I can afford to pull it off. Sandals/slingbscks I wear fit my feet with stockings, but not socks. If I bought them to fit with socks, my feet would be sliding around the shoe when Sun n Summer comes. When I try to add socks, the shoe is staining to get everything in and probably won't buckle, ssock looking like it's jammed in a too-small door shoe. What to do? Buy shoes in a size up expressly for the look? I want to try this look and am genuinely curious

No, don’t size up in shoes! But maybe a finer knit sock? The grey wool Falke ones I mention are pretty close to the skin but still substantial enough to keep warm until I would say…below 45 degrees F
