I am so glad you shared this as I was wondering so often, but does she wear the HEELS to drop off? Also j’adore that denim shirt and will probs copy asap for postpartum comfort
How are you feelinggggggg? Also, drop off does not count as an occasion to dress for around these parts! I'm in a version of pajamas for that portion of the day. I think its the blessing of living so close to my kids school. I come home and change before starting my day
I always forget to treat my accessories like more a part of the outfit and how much they can change the whole look! I also really really want a chunky gold bracelet or 2!
Hi! It’s a bit narrow for pant loops,so wouldn’t get it that’s the purpose you’re after. great if you’re going to style it over something like a blazer or shirt tho. A nice pop of color too !
So many wonderful tips - thank you! Wondering if you’d be willing to share your thoughts on mixing metals for fancier jewelry? For example, can one wear a diamond necklace, diamond wedding ring, gold ring on the right hand etc?
I kind of consider diamonds/crystal/white sapphires a neutral and don’t have a problem mixing metals with them. So If it’s a “diamond” ring set on white gold I’m totally ok pairing it with yellow gold bracelet or vice versa. Is this what you mean ?
I love the Dorsey necklaces. I think the silver one is the most classic but I tend to wear gold jewelery only.... I can't decide if I like to mix and match metals or do I go for the gold necklace . Feels like the gold and white sapphires are a bit 80's .....
I wear a Dorsey necklace set on white gold/silver w gold jewelry. It doesn’t bother me but also have a similar necklace set on yellow and it hasn’t registered 80s in a bad way but there is def something a bit more precious about it. I often wear that one much more with sweatshirts, cotton tanks, etc
Another fun one! So true on mixing up the basic outfit. I think it is important to have a uniform that works for you. Comfort zone dressing? Those accessories and suggestions are the the perfect addition of personality. I think I might need one of those Hermes bracelets to match the skinny belt I have from them, a fave, not sure if I would wear wear them together, though maybe I will? I also am most likely going to copy that men's polo suggestion as well.
COMFORT ZONE DRESSING. Have been thinking about comfort zones a lot lately -- more about how they can trap you in an experience long after you've completed whatever called you into it, which is so different from comfort zone dressing, which seems so warm and cozy. Though I guess emotional comfort zones serve an essential bridge purpose too, its only when you outstay your welcome that they become kind of an issue
I might have an unpopular opinion that comfort zones are not necessarily a bad thing, just like I do not think all patterns are necessarily ones that need to be changed. Boundaries I think also apply here. I do agree, staying in the comfort zone is not always good, get out there(!), though having one to go back to is in fact, comforting.
Comfort zone dressing to me is like having your uniforms, capsule wardrobes, etc... I do think it is necessary to break away from that as well. Though having nostalgic pieces I think is a bit of comfort zone dressing too. Like always wearing Converse, a certain jean, etc..
Emotional comfort zones and outstaying your welcome I think applies to patterns yes?
yes, i'm with you for sure. there are good patterns and bad patterns. they're kind of like habits and that's def true of comfort zones too though but its helpful that you laid it out in such plain terms. some ppl find a lot of confidence and risk tolerance IN a comfort zone whereas others (like me) feel much more confident after having exited the comfort zone to try something new then coming back in to remember all the yummy mushy things about it.
maybe my comfort zone is actually the first few steps out of it?
Yes! I think so. You just made me realize that maybe the so-called "going outside the comfort zone" and being risky and often experiencing new is also a comfort zone. I am like that too and I felt myself just naturally fall into not always pushing boundaries (in a glass ceiling way), being a complete homebody, etc... and then that became my comfort zone. We change or not change. As long as you're happy that's all that matters. Currently expanding to a happy medium though for me another comfort zone is traveling somewhere and staying at a hotel. I love a hotel. I also enjoy eating alone. No matter how many people look at it as a bad thing, I find so much peace in it. 🤷 I think you can apply it in other ways as well, a general example if you are used to always being good at something it's okay not to be, etc... Just to clarify, this is different than just being new at something and not good at it right away.
I do think it goes back to patterns and what reinforces us positively and negatively. It is different for everyone. Growth is also different for everyone. In regards to patterns, I feel that they are built on habits, is that wrong?
Adding that in regards to patterns in character, I think they are shaped in habits though patterns in thinking are a whole different beast in my opinion. This is where I am grateful for my years in the Real Estate business. I have been to many seminars including multiple Tony Robbins ones which I fully recommend. Take what resonates and leave the rest. You are exposed to others like Tim Ferris and Dave Ramsey just as other generic examples. I always joke that all my life skills come from that business. You work on and with teams handling so many strong personalities, you learn from so many others in the business (honestly the most successful were always the kindest and very supportive), you learn time blocking, accounting, accountability, party planning, goal setting, networking, and marketing. Just to name a few. I also know how to make a killer gift basket. Back to the seminars, you learn about overcoming your limited and fear based thinking along with handling rejection just as an example. That is where I am coming from when I lean into having good patterns. 😊💛
This one is really good, and really resonates with me. So good that I kept pulling it up reading it from time to time when I am randomly browsing instagram. Of course made a few purchases. 🙂

Yes - that’s answers my curiosity. I never thought of diamonds as neutral so that helps with the framing.
Yes to this! So much more interested in seeing real life style than the contrived newsletter style that’s been dominating these dispatches of late!
Helpful feedback!
Ah, while I loved today’s post, I also love the newsletters that provide the spice that’s missing from my everyday life.
Leandra I’m obsessed with this breakdown!
I always forget to treat my accessories like more a part of the outfit and how much they can change the whole look! I also really really want a chunky gold bracelet or 2!
Let us know what you end up with!
Loved this breakdown, thank you!
Wondering if the Geneva chat is still going on? If so, is there a link to join?
Yes! Email me (by replying to this email) and I will send it your way
My email to you bounced! Any other way? Can you DM on substack?
so good! Leandra, do you like the Aeyde belt, I mean its width/buckle?

If you don’t mind me asking, where/how did you the vartist skirt? I’ve been looking to buy a white skirt and this one is perfect.
I reached out to the brand directly on Instagram! Give it a try. Sometimes it works when things are sold out

But where are those amazing socks from with the sling back pumps?!
Ugh I can’t remember where they’re from! I think either Wolford or Les Belles
It's a gold bracelet !
