Love the white mules and the white Prada pumps. The combo of leather perfecto jacket with slim leggings and pumps reminds me of Madonna's "Borderline" video way back when, brilliant. Also love how the pointy Prada pumps relate to the pointy brooch in #5 (miniskirt look). So much great stuff here.

I have been hunting down vintage sequin or metallic mini skirts to wear over my pants like an apron. I love the way you layered over the J.Crew top...marvelous. Also....A DAMN CUMBERBUND!!! heavens!!😬

THE THOUGHT of a sequined apron had never occurred to me but is possibly the best idea you’ve ever had

Very handy...I love the idea of doing a sequin one OR even better sheer silk organza that you could also wear tied around your neck a few times like a crazy ascot or tube top style....so many apron options!

I don’t think it’s for sale!

Hi! A little off topic but you have a boob poster in your apartment and I’ve looked EVERYWHERE for it and can’t find it. Can you please tell me where you got it 🙏🙏🙏 THANKS!!

It’s an old NYMag poster! From 2016, that I had framed

Can fully relate to missing living in the city as a catalyst for dressing up. Since moving away, I find myself needing travel to feel the creative juices start flowing. Currently in Paris and feeling it all flood back.

Where’d you move? Winter in New York is pretty uninspiring too. I think relatively frequent relocations are just good for the soul

Moved to Lexington, Kentucky… a wild shift from being in NYC, LA, and SF throughout my previous adult life. Fortunately it’s an easy place to travel from.

What’s there!? And what is the biggest difference would you say?

My favorite thing about my father in law (who is a hardcore Brooklyn Jew) is that he was born in Louisville

My spouse grew up there, so actually my father in law was the big reason for us living there. It’s a big bourbon and horse racing town, which is fascinating to me as an outsider.

I’d say the biggest difference I’ve noticed is that people tend to have families younger and keep the same friend groups they’ve had since childhood, so it’s a harder place to be new in than any of the bigger cities I’ve lived in.

I completely relate. I have an Aquarian tendency to oscillate between being hyper social and hyper isolated. The pandemic years coinciding with my move made me extra rusty at being social, though I feel like I’m entering a new period of wanting to connect more and have been trying to be more intentional about making plans even though spontaneity is more natural to me.

How have you been finding ways to connect?

The other big difference: driving! I had this problem in LA too. I feel like I get all of my ideas and draw all of my energy from just walking and observing and it’s hard to get that living in a place where walks are more limited.

This is my problem with La. All the driving makes spontaneity hard. I’m so bad at making plans (I’m an out of sight out of mind kind of person and literally forget who I know when I’m in isolation too long) and being able to walk down the street and just like RUN INTO people really helps keep my social life in check. ( I mean kind of, I’m craving soooo much more social connection these days. Feeling awkward and rusty and in one of those “do I even have friends?” phases)

I love the mixture of textures, especially the suede and ruffles. It’s the time of year when life, like the cold ground, feels unyielding and unforgiving. I need some softness, but I’m tired of my bulky sweaters.

So comforting to remember I’m not the only one who feels this way. We had a few bright warm-ish days this week and I was floored by how quickly the blues lifted.

So much inspiration here! What size are you taking in the J. Crew sequin top for it to peek out like that?

I’m not wearing it over my upper half 😬😬 the top part is tucked into the waist of the jeans

Hahaha, that makes way more sense. 😂 Their tops always feel so short to me

Should have put it in the style notes! Glad
